Law Society Referral Service
The Law Society governs all lawyers and paralegals in Ontario. The LSO has a service to help people find a lawyer or paralegal skilled in the correct area of law, which is called the Law Society Referral Service. This is an online referral service to connect you to a lawyer or paralegal for a free 30-minute consultation.
Community Legal Education Ontario (CLEO):
CLEO is a specialty community legal clinic that produces clear language legal information for people with low incomes. Main topics include social assistance, landlord and tenant law, refugee and immigration law, workers’ compensation, women’s issues, family law, employment insurance and human rights. You can order their booklets for free or read them online. CLEO also produces the Steps to Justice and Justice pas-à-pas websites.
